My work is about positive energy in a literal and metaphorical sense. From the first time I entered the water cooling hall I knew: this is my place, my magnum opus. The years of experience as an offshore supervisor, and the 20 years as a sculptor, came together in this place full of energy. The water cooling hall is going OFF THE GRID, we are moving from old to new energy.
We are becoming self-sufficient in energy, water, heat and food production. The hospitality concept within the water cooling hall will be a high-quality NO WASTE concept. Your phone will not be able to connect to the mobile network, a time for self-reflection. Education, technology, arts and crafts will settle there. A place of imagination, connection and a reflection of the future rooted in the past.
The water cooling hall was part of the Harculo power plant, also known as the IJsselcentrale. The water from the IJssel, that was used to cool the turbines, was first filtered in the cooling water building via various processes.
