A private company commission by Shell Technology Center Amsterdam.

When it became clear that the Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam (STCA) was going to be built, Shell Amsterdam’s art committee aimed at realizing a monumental work of art to be positioned near the entrance to the new building. The design presented by Ronald A. Westerhuis was universally approved by the committee with the end result; a twelve-meter high monumental sculpture named ‘Pride’. Using its form and scale to represent the growth process of the worldwide Shell organization.
